Dudhnoi Revenue Circle is located in the eastern part of Goalpara District nearly 105 K.M. away from Gauhati. The circle covers about 117'66 sq km, of area with 67 revenue villages. The circle is the gateway to Garo Hills of Meghalaya. The demographic feature of this area is heterogeneous and comprises various ethnic and religious groups like Rabha, Boro Koach- Rajbangsi and many others. The area is dominated mostly by Rabha population.

Water resources are declining day by day at the faster rate due to rapid urbanization and population load. Deterioration of the water quality is now a global problem (Mahananda et al. 2010). The purity of water varies from place to place in nature (Patil 2013). The quality of water of any aquatic ecosystem arises by the interaction of physical chemical and biological component of the habitat. Aquatic biota presents in any aquatic ecosystem directly influence the Physico-chemical characteristics of that aquatic ecosystem. The physico-chemical parameters have important significance in determining the trophic status of aquatic habitats.

Sesame, (Sesamum indicum), also called benne, erect annual plant of the family Pedaliaceae, grown since antiquity for its seeds, which are used as food and flavouring and from which a prized oil is extracted. Pedaliaceae is one of the largest valuable families from agricultural and pharmacological point of view. The Pedaliaceae plants are cultivated throughout the world. They are distributed in plains as well as hills. Sesame is a good source of oils.

Ladybird beetles are the member of class insecta and belong to family Coccinellidae. As all other insects, beetles have an outer skeleton known as exoskeleton. This outer skeleton gives protection and provides the attachment places for muscles. Body of these insects is consisting of three main regions: head, thorax and abdomen Ladybird beetles have very distinctive shape and can be easily identified. Some species of ladybird beetles are judged as pests due to their attack on the vegetative parts of plants.
